Shuttle Spotting: Is Brooklyn in the house? Shortly before the Enterprise touched down this morning at JFK, our friend, Brooklyn photographer Lori Heddinger posted these shots.
The historic flight had me teary-eyed, thinking back to my grandpa’s enthusiasm for spacecraft and excitement taking us to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. We learned all about this very first Space Shuttle orbiter NASA was about to roll out.
Now that same Enterprise is being retirement-housed at Intrepid, Sea, Air and Space Museum here in NYC. Wondering how soon after Enterprise becomes open for viewing in July we’ll actually be able to procure tickets to bring our little boobuddha and see— oh, here I go again [verklempt].
